University authorities were puzzled. “He (Noor) has been teaching in the Kashmir University for 20 years and is not known for his extreme views,” Mohammed’s colleagues told. Many people say that the question reflects the facts and Noor was just trying to point out the futility of protest that was happening now and then in Kashmir Valley by pelting stones.He said at least 21000 students from the state were pursuing different courses under distance education. Prof Mian Muhammad said due to some confusion the university was put in the unrecognized list of universities, which had now been cleared. “The mandate of MANUU has reached every nook and corner of the country and nobody would question its authenticity. The J&K government had now issued a notice for authenticating the recognition of the university.
The chief guest, Prof. M.Y. Qadiri while complimenting the Carvan-e-Islami, Jammu and Kashmir for establishing Shiekh-ul-Alam (RA) Research University highlighted the teachings of Islam and importance of education. He said the modern scientific research have after a long research given the Big Bang theory which has been 1400 years ago given by the holy Quran. He said the European Scientists have read the books of Muslim Scientists and historians like Ibn-Rushd, Alberuni, Bu-Ali-Sena etc and dedicated themselves for its research and thus marched ahead. He said Muslims have also remained best mathematicians.
